Morton Lavine's Obituary
Morton S. "Poppy" Lavine, 82, of Liverpool passed away on Saturday surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 17, 1928 and proudly served our country as an MP in the US Army Air Corp. Morton was employed with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1989. He was predeceased by a grandson Stephen Lavine in 1978 and a great granddaughter, Alexandria Nelipowitz in 1994. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rita (Sciacca) Lavine; two sons, Stephen (Laurie) Lavine of Baldwinsville and Mark Lavine of Troy, NY; two daughters, Rosemarie "Rosie" (Kevin) Heneka of Mattydale and Linda (Keith) Nodzo of Lyncourt; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Alfred (Marlaine) Lavine of New York City, Howard (Sharon) Lavine of N.C. and Robert (Martha) Lavine of DeWitt; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9:00 A.M. in the Thomas J. Pirro Funeral Home and 10:00 A.M. in St. Joseph the Worker Church where a Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Francis House or St. Joseph the Worker Church.
