Nicholas C. Silvaggio's Obituary
Nicholas C. Silvaggio, 87, of Syracuse, passed away Saturday at the Francis House. He was born in Philadelphia, PA and resided in the Syracuse area for most of his life. Nicholas was a 1942 graduate of Christian Brothers Academy and served with the US Marine Corps during WWII. He was a self employed Cement Mason. Nicholas was an usher, Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Holy Name Society at Our Lady of Pompei Church. He often visited the home bound and was active with Our Lady of Pompei Food Pantry. He was predeceased by his biological parents, Antonio and Nicolena (Riccillo) Silvaggio, his parents who raised him from infancy, Antoinette and Michael Colasurdo, who were his aunt and uncle, 4 brothers, Joseph, Alfred and Pasquale Silvaggio and Frank Colasurdo, 3 sisters, Mary Presto, Anna Falter and Angelina Silvaggio. Nicholas is survived by his sister, Sister Rose Marie Colasurdo and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and at Noon in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. The Holy Name Society will recite their ritual on Monday, 3:30 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Francis House, 108 Michael's Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13208.
