To the family of Paul Delaney; Please accept my condolences on the passing of Paul. I was fortunate enough to have served with him on the SPD and even closer with him on the "Sneaker Squad". During the days of our service together most of us looked forward to going to work and serving the City of Syracuse. Paul Delaney was the epitome of the "cop's cop" and I am better for having served with him. While he was a brave and dedicated police officer, he often spoke very highly of his family and the pride he had for them. I share in your grief, but I also celebrate the life of a good man.

It was a privilege to have known and worked with Paul at the SPD-----even in the most serious moments, there was a laugh. He never feared sharing his knowledge and was an asset to all.

Dear Pat, Coleen, Susan, Paul, Anne, Jimmy, Kelly, Vinnie and Chad.

I am heartbroken by Paul’s passing and will be with you in spirit on Wednesday. I treasured my times with him whenever I visited Syracuse and when he and Pat visited DC. I recall in particular his visits to Kathy’s kitchen and his spirted discussions about issues large and small, the visits to his beloved camp and the 1000 Islands Park, a quick trip to Canada just over the border, his kindness in sending me articles about Syracuse and its history, and setting me straight on our Delaney ancestors. I will be eternally grateful for his concern and kindness regarding my brother. Love to you all. Sheila
