Rest in peace, Papa ❤️
My grandfather was hands down one of the most kind and generous people I've ever known, and he would go out of his way to help those in need. He was able to gather the attention of so many people from his church and his community and even motivate them. I'll never forget how this man had the ability to make someone's day just by saying "hi" to them. I can recall so many times where we would go with him in public and he would always have to go out of his way to stop and talk to someone he recognized (even if he barely knew them), making their day as they would say, "There's Papa Pete!", and his kindness, generosity, and charisma is something I will always look up to and remember for the rest of my life. He was truly a fighter and it was impressive that he could still get around at age 93. One thing I'll always be thankful for is that he got to see me graduate high school. Even though he couldn't come to the little "drive-through" ceremony my school had, I'll never forget going to visit him right after I walked the stage, dressed in my cap and gown. I'll never forget how proud he was of me and how happy he was to be able to see me just minutes after I recieved my diploma. Though I never really got to say goodbye, I know it was his time and I'm convinced that he's in a much better place and is watching over my family and I, right beside my grandmother. I love you, Papa ❤️
