Peter F. Scalzo's Obituary
Peter Frederick Scalzo, 95, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully at home on June 19, 2026. He was born in Old Forge, PA, son of the late Frederick and Lena (Design) Scalzo.
Peter served with the Air National Guard and retired from GE after 47 dedicated years.
He was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Pompe/St. Peter Church and a member of the Pompeian Players and Holy Name Society.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Liberty Ann Scalzo in 2019; two sons, Robert and Thomas Scalzo; siblings, Fred and Delores Scalzo, Josephine and Leland Morse, Clementine and Frank Borea; and his daughter-in-law, Debbie Scalzo.
Peter is survived by his two sons, Peter F. Scalzo II and Michael J. Scalzo; his daughter, Rosemarie Scalzo; adopted daughter, Brenda McGinnis; five grandchildren, Nicholas, Michael, Christopher (Lynn), Patrick (Kathryn) and Ryan (Katie); nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Peter’s life at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, 301 Ash St., Syracuse, NY. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 3:00 – 6:00 pm on Friday, June 26, 2026 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd., (corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY.
