Phillip M. Rizzo, 84, of the “West End” of Syracuse passed away peacefully with his immediate family by his side on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was born in Syracuse to the late Phillip M. Rizzo II and Luci Read Obituary
To Phil's family and Friends!
Phil and I were hired the same day and started working at Allied Chemical. We worked side by side for many years ending up and finishing our careers at Church and Dwight. We enjoyed playing softball, going to Smokers, Clambakes, Vernon Downs and etc. We weathered winter stormes, hot summers and all of Life's problems. Phil enjoyed his golfing, his Corvettes and
Meatballs! It was an honor and a privilege to work with Phil for some 25 years.

To the family of Phil, I am so sorry for your loss. Phil was such a great friend. I worked with him at Church & Dwight. As usually the only woman in the department, he would look out for me as a good dad would do. He would always have a smile on his face and frequently share stories of Renee when she was younger. That would bring out his biggest smile. He would always be sure to make contact with me to invite Mert & I to the Steelworkers clambake where we all talked and laughed about memories at the plant. I will always remember Phil with a smile. Thank you for sharing him with me.

Will greatly miss cousin Phil. In his early days he lived in the upstairs apt. in my grandmother's house. We spent many days fishing on Otisco Lake, and I remember driving out there in his 1966 Burgandy Corvette the first one of many that he owned. Phil was always friendly and cordial to everyone and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. He was the kind of person that you always enjoyed talking to. R.I.P. cousin! Phil Corso
To Phil’s family, It has been years but I knew Phil back in the days when
Diane worked at the Holiday Inn. I worked there too and remember the
both of them very well. I am sorry for your loss and extend my deepest
sympathy to his family.

I only knew Phil for a few years, which is unfortunate. Phil had many, many good qualities; I think the greatest was his generosity. Phil gave to many charities, and was always there when family needed him. His good nature was even extended to his pets and the animals in the adjacent woods who he would feed in the winter time. I am blessed to have known Phil and hope that I can show my respect and gratitude for him through my own actions.
