Rachel H. (Parsons) Furze's Obituary
Rachel H. (Parsons) Furze, 67, of Jensen Beach, FL., passed away Saturday surrounded by her loving family. Rachel was born in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Clifford and Florence (Lewis) Parsons. She was employed by United Parcel Service for 25 years before her retirement. She and her husband Tom spent winters in Florida and loved their summers camping and enjoying the outdoors with family and friends at Brennan's Beach.
Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her sister, Marsha. Rachel is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Thomas J. Furze; her son, Eric (Mindy) Stanton of North Syracuse; 2 step-daughters, Christine (Todd) Foster of Camillus and Theresa (John) Nicholson of Port Byron; 6 grandchildren, Thomas, Jeffrey, Lewis, Emilie, Marisa, and Nicole; her sister, Carol (Robert) Merritt of Cicero and many loved nieces, nephews and in-laws.
A funeral service in celebration of Rachel's life will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME. Entombment will be in North Syracuse Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Family and Friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Road, (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Central New York 990 Seventh North Street, Liverpool, NY 13088.
