Robert E. Audley's Obituary
Robert E. Audley, of Liverpool, a very kind and gentle man of 87 years, passed away Tuesday. Robert was born in Johnson City, NY and graduated from Johnson City High School. The day following graduation, he joined the U.S. Army, attached to the U.S. Marines and spent time in the Pacific as a radar operator and sharpshooter. He received a WWII Victory Medal and Pacific Service Medal. Following his honorable discharge, he entered Syracuse University, met his future wife, Marie and graduated with her in 1949. Robert and Marie were married on December 30, 1950. Robert was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was employed at HSBC for over 32 years as a marketing officer and retired in 1989. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Elizabeth (Best) Audley. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Marie A. (Sheridan) Audley; two sons, Robert E. (Michelle) Audley of Liverpool and Edward R. (Debbe) Audley of Bridgeport; four grandchildren, Alecia Audley and her fiancee, Ian Smith, Marisa Audley, Robert Audley and Steven Audley; brother, Charles Audley of Auburn; brother-in-law, Edward (Nancy) Sheridan of Liverpool; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Liverpool. Private burial will be in Assumption Cemetery at a later date.
