"The most beautiful people in our lives are those who have experienced defeat, suffering, struggle, and loss. Remarkably, these people have found ways to conquer adversity. From these life lessons, the beautiful people in our lives have developed a deep appreciation for and understanding of life that fills them with compassion, warmth, and a profound and intrinsic concern for others. Beautiful people evolve, they don’t just happen." This statement defines how I will always remember Bob Licata, compassionate, warm, and always concerned about others. Though many, many years have passed since we even seen one another, the exceptional memories of our childhoods growing up together and the many bicycle rides from Woodbury Avenue to Woods Avenue all those decades ago, are now and will forever be entrenched in my mind and in my heart. I live WITH and IN these memories and lovingly embrace the fact that I will never forget how much Bob’s friendship meant to me then and now; nothing will ever change that. RIP old friend.
