Rose Marie Chiarizia-Hojnacki's Obituary
Rose Marie Chiarizia – Hojnacki, 72, of Clay, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, with her loving family by her side. Born in Syracuse to Julia (Albanese) Chiarizia and Joseph Chiarizia. She was the Director of Medical Records at St. Camillus Health & Rehabilitation Center in Syracuse for several dedicated years. Rose Marie enjoyed traveling and taking trips to the casino but spending time with her family was most important to her. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as “Mimi.”
Along with her father, she was predeceased by her former husband, Douglas Hojnacki (James Baird) in 2021.
Rose Marie is survived by her children, Julia (Shawn) Waybright, and Marian (Ammiel) Fernandez; grandchildren, Isabella Fernandez, Ethan Waybright, Maximus Fernandez, and Sophia Waybright; siblings, Joseph (Barbara) Chiarizia, Anthony Chiarizia (Deb Emmert), Julie Chiarizia Woodson, and Richard Chiarizia; along with many nieces, nephews, a large extended family, and many friends.
A Memorial Mass in celebration of Rose Marie’s life will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 10:30 am in Sacred Heart Church of Cicero, 8229 Brewerton Rd., Cicero. Family and friends may call on Friday, September 30, 2022, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Road (Corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY 13212.
Rose Marie’s family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the Cath lab and MICU at St. Joseph’s Hospital, NAVAC, and the Clay Fire Department for their compassion and care during her final days.
