She always called us "you guys" or she would say "Texas calling." And she loved coming to Texas and spending time with us (as much as we loved having them). We will miss our conversations with Rose and Sam both. I recall one time that I told Derrell that Sam wanted to talk with him and he got on the phone (not realizing that Sam had turned over the telephone to Rose) and said "what are you doing you old bas- - - -? Derrell was very embarrassed when he found out it was Rose on the phone.
Two very unique and wonderful people have passed on and we will miss them both, but will remember all the good times, especially the trip to the apple orchard.
