Rudolph F. Zona, 83, of Liverpool, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Upstate University Hospital. He was born in Syracuse graduated from St. Vincent de Paul and served as a Corporal in the US Army during the Korean War. Rudol Read Obituary
I had Mr Zona my senior year. He also had my mom too. He reflected she was his best student. She graduated in the 60’s, i had him in 1984/85.
I wonder if he would have been proud that I am a school business administrator today & it all started with Mr Toth & him with Accounting 1 & 2.

You and Una were always so kind to me when visiting my grandparents (Carol and Pat Sr.). I enjoyed our long talks during my visits and I always found you to be a very kind person. I wish I would have reached out sooner. RIP...

He was a memorable teacher and caring person. always there to lend a helping hand and through my years I never forgot him and thanked him for everything he taught/instilled in me as a student. He was just the nicest person....but DON'T be late to his class :o) Peace and thanks to him for everything.

Mr. Zona was a great teacher! He was patient, kind and knew how to teach. He has been remembered by me as one of my most favorite teachers from high school. Sorry for your loss.
To the Zona family, my sincere condolences. I was never so fortunate as to have him as a teacher, but he knew and cared about all of us. I was in the class of '66 and unable to make it to my 20th reunion, I called the venue to say hello to a few old friends. To my surprise, Rudy also got on the phone, and talked like an old friend who remembered me well, and I believe he did. ESM was very lucky to have had him there for so many years, and all us were very lucky to have known him. I am very sorry for your loss.

Mr. Zona awarded me a senior ('90) achievement award. It was a complete surprise. He was such a kind person, always thinking of his students. It's because of him I knew how to balance a checkbook.
I became an accountant because of Mr. Zona. I always remember him making us draw perfectly straight lines in our journals. He had an endless supply of cardboard "straight edges" if you forgot your ruler. I still impart this wisdom on those who work for me. I was so well prepared when I went on to college after having bookkeeping with him. Many condolences to the family. Stephanie Lavenberg ESM 88 now VP at a bank in PA.
