Samuel S. Rizzo, Jr., 83, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017 at Crouse Hospital. A life resident of Syracuse, he served in the U.S. Air Force and retired after many years of employment from Onondaga County. He was a member of Pin Read Obituary
I first met Sam and Theresa a few years ago at the bakery in the Camillus Walmart where the dear couple had bought some fresh loaves of italian bread and we had even enjoyed some samples that the store had. Sam had such a great smile whenever I saw them. I will always remember his sweet smile.
Theresa and Family, so sorry for your loss of Bucky, he was such a great guy, I am sure the rest of the Rizzo Family is takeing good care of him. He is in your heart always. RIP

We are heartbroken over Uncle Sam's passing. Growing up I have so many wonderful memories...family reunions at Shove Park, visiting you and Uncle Ray, watching you dance and laugh with Grandma...can't believe you're gone. I can only imagine the reunion you are having with Great Grandma/Grandpa Rizzo and your brothers/sisters...please give my Grandmother and Grandfather a hug for me. We had planned to come up for the service however with the Blizzard the weather, sadly, made that impossible...we are with you today, tomorrow, and always in spirit and in love. May God Bless you, give you comfort and strength, and welcome Uncle Bucky home...rest easy Uncle Sam, until we see you again.

I always fondly remember how welcoming Sam was when I first started dating Mary, his niece, and not only through our marriage but also afterward. Mary and I especially enjoyed our visit with Sam and Theresa after Mary's Aunt's funeral. Sam (and Theresa) always made me feel comfortable and part of the family. Mary and I especially appreciated Sam and Theresa coming to Mary's (birth and adopted) family reunion last year. Sad that it was the last time we saw Sam but we are now so happy that we had the opportunity to see Sam one last time.
