Samuel S. "Sam" Rizzo, Jr.'s Obituary
Samuel S. Rizzo, Jr., 83, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017 at Crouse Hospital.
A life resident of Syracuse, he served in the U.S. Air Force and retired after many years of employment from Onondaga County. He was a member of Pine Grove Country Club where he enjoyed golfing with many friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Sam Sr. and Mary Rizzo; his brothers, Phil (Margaret) Rizzo and Ray (Charlotte) Rizzo; sisters, Marian (Phil) Feliceangeli, Anne (Tom) Celentano and Catherine (Michael) Tumolo.
Sam is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Theresa (Russo) Rizzo; step-son Tom (Kathleen) Clark; grandchildren, Tom (Kelli) Clark and Natalie (Kelly) Hendrickson; great-grandchildren, Quinn, Rory and Nadia, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Sam’s life will be held in Holy Family Church in Fairmount, where he was a member, at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO, JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley) North Syracuse on Monday, March 13, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
