Sarah Jane (Falgiatano) Reid's Obituary
Sarah J. (Falgiatano) Reid, 87, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Syracuse to the late John and Rose (Leonardo) Falgiatano. Sarah ran day-to-day operations as the restaurant manager for Bayberry Seafoods for over 40 years until her retirement in 2012, even earning her a Citation in recognition of her 43 years of service to the community from then Senator John DeFrancisco. To honor her late husband, Wallace, who became disabled due to his military service, Sarah volunteered with the Disabled American Veteran (DAV) auxiliary to assist other disabled veterans. She enjoyed baking pies, playing cards, trips to the casino, and golf outings at Westhill Golf Course, but more than anything she loved to spend time with her many friends, especially the North High School Alumni Ladies, and her beloved family.
Sarah is survived by her daughters, Roseann (Robert) Colwell and Suzanne Reid; her brother, Louis (Theresa) Falgiatano; her nephews, John (Jessica) and Charles (Colleen) Falgiatano; her great-nieces and nephews, Marisa, Mia, Jake, Gianni, Grace, Anthony, Sarah, and Vincent Falgiatano; along with several cousins.
The family would like to extend special thanks for the care provided by Comfort Keepers and her medical providers, Dr. Pastore and Dr. Ondocin.
An hour of visitation will take place at Christ the King Church, 21 Cherry Tree Cir. Liverpool, from 9:45 – 10:45 A.M. on Saturday, April 5, 2025, followed by a funeral Mass in celebration of Sarah’s life at 11:00 A.M. in the church. She will be laid to rest in Assumption Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ the King Church, the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
