Sarah R. Garofalo, 95, of Mattydale, the heart of our family, passed away on Mother’s Day at home. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (DiMento) Crisafi. Sarah was employed for many years at Learbury Read Obituary
John, Anne, Nick, Tom and family-Our deepest condolences on the loss of your mom. We both know how hard it is to lose a mother-it is one of the deepest sorrows a heart can know. Your mom will always hold a special place in your life. Every holiday you will think of the special things you all did together, when you cook a meal she liked or that she taught you to make, that special song-so many memories that will always hold a special place in your life. She loved all of you and all the grandkids-that is what kept her going. She had a wonderful life, but we hope you can find some comfort that she is with your dad now and all of her departed family. One of my fondest memories was of her and your Dad “cuttin up the rug”. The video is a beautiful tribute to her and how important her family was to her. You were all very blessed and loved.

Grandma Garofalo was an awesome lady and she sure did love her family! She was certainly known for her infamous homemade raviolis the size of your hand her stuffed meatballs as big as baseballs.. and that production started the day after thanksgiving slowly filling freezers up! The ravioli feast was always Christmas Day .. she never turned away a hungry belly that knocked on the door.. we would just scootch over and add a setting!! The Garofalo’s are an amazingly loving family and Grandma Garofalo will be sorely missed... though her traditions will be carried on for generations to come!!
