More thoughts about Steve…
A few years back, long after Steve had retired from the post office, I contacted him out of the blue and asked for help in hanging a door at my home.
He kindly and generously responded, not only helping me by accompanying me to the home center and pointing out the proper fasteners and accessories to buy, but of course expertly hanging the door (by himself).
It was a warm day as I recall, and he worked assiduously, not even stopping for a glass of water.
After the job was finished Steve refused any money for the job. He wound up hanging the door and all that entailed, gratis.
Many times when I look at the door, I think of Steve and what a great guy he was.
The door is now aligned perfectly, and swings free and true to this day. I know it will continue to do so for a long time indeed.

Dear Connie and Family,
My deepest sympathy to you. This wonderful man loved our Lord so much and we all had a Rosary group which he led for many years. What a faith-filled man and a man who could do everything. He will be missed at Holy Cross but will always be remembered by me in my Eternal Rests.

Dear Mrs. Wolniak and family,
Steve was my supervisor in the maintenance department at the Taft Road post office in North Syracuse. He was a good supervisor mostly because he was, at his essence a leader. He was strong, kind, firm and fair. Plus, his cabinetry work in the maintenance areas of the building succeeds him; his craftsmanship is flawless and lasting.
His special devotion to Saint Faustina sped him even faster, no doubt, past the Gates of Heaven and into God’s loving care.
