Aunt Terry was the best. All of her loving nieces and nephews would agree. She was also a doting daughter, a great sister, and a wonderful wife.
She was such a gem. Such a compassionate person. Always asking about how you were doing, how you were feeling, what you liked and disliked. She cared. She never forgot a birthday or an anniversary. Always reminiscing on the past to keep you grounded in your current affairs. Some of my fondest childhood memories involved Aunt Terry.
She and My mother were shopping in Albany during a snowstorm when my mother went into labor. Thankfully they made it back to St. Joseph's in time, what a hoot!
One memory that she never let me forget was at breakfast with her and Uncle Bill when I first discovered sugar and proceeded to eat each and every jelly packet on the table. She thought that was hilarious.
Another memory she always shared was when she and Uncle Bill came to visit and he said "hi pretty A". I replied with "hi pretty Bill" She got such a kick out of that story.
Lastly, as a young girl I had said to them that I hoped they would be alive for my wedding! On my wedding day they were there and we laughed about how I had said that and how they did, in fact, make it!! I'm so grateful.
We shared many delicious family dinners in the summers, played a lot of cards, went for a lot of walks, and watched a lot of golf. From shopping trips, hair appointments and badminton games in the backyard, she always made me feel special.
She always brought fresh bread and cookies on Sunday to Grams and I'll never forget her sausage roll, chocolate chip cookies, and ambrosia!
The best gift she gave to me was her unconditional love and presence.
Although I cannot be there to celebrate her life and show my respect with my extended family, I will always carry her love in my heart.
