Theresa A. "Terry" (Fanizzi) Watt's Obituary
Theresa A. “Terry” (Fanizzi) Watt, 88, of Fayetteville passed away peacefully at Francis House on Thursday May 7, 2026, surrounded by family and dedicated caregivers. Terry was born in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Cosmo and Crisenza Fanizzi.
Terry was predeceased by her husband of 36 years and her forever love, William J. Watt; great niece, Brooke DeRoberts; her brother John; sisters, Erica, Linda Fanizzi-Wells, Nancy (Tony) Conti and nephew, Patrick Sullivan.
Her marriage was the embodiment of unconditional adoration, friendship and reverence. When William lost his sight to macular degeneration, Terry served as his eyes and continued to tenderly guide him through the final years of his life with compassion, dignity and devotion.
Surviving are her brother, Cosmo (Linda) Fanizzi; sister-in-law, Linda Welch Fanizzi, and several nieces and nephews.
She retired from St. Joseph’s Hospital as the Director of Patient Accounting with over 40 years of loyal service. During her residencies at Francis House, Terry’s thoughtfulness and appreciation for staff members brought an everlasting feeling of joy. Multiple visitors every day created a sense of heartfelt community that eventually carried her into the reunion with her husband.
Terry was known for her meticulous attention to detail. She radiated grace, beauty and style wherever she went. She was the personification of elegance and generosity.
Special thanks is to be given to the incredible staff at Francis House who provided comfort and tenderness during the length of her stay.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 3pm to 5pm, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Terry’s life at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Road (corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
