How I loved Mrs. Soccocio when I was a kid, playing on Seward Street hill, in the house and in the way. She watched over the two of us.
Even with such a long life, it's never easy to say good-bye to a parent.

Tess and Tom were such an important part of my son's early life. He is nearly 27 now and we have often reminisced about all of the special memories he has of the time spent in their care....from standing on a chair at the kitchen sink learning how to wash dishes to rolling down the hill in the backyard to helping pick veggies from the garden. We have always said that Tess and Tom were like having a third set of grandparents. My work occasionally takes me by their former home/day care, and I always slow down to remember what special people they were and how blessed we were to have had their influence in our lives. May your family take comfort in knowing that Tess's spirit continues to flourish in the lives of all of the children that she loved and nurtured.
