Dear MaryAnn and family,
I was due to be in Arizona to see my son Dec. 27th but plane cancelled due to our snowstorm and my neighbor told me about the passing of your dear husband Thomas as I discontinued my newspaper until my return. Due to the weather I am not going now to Az. My prayers and thoughts are with you at this time and Thomas now joins my dear husband David who passed away last Nov. 14th of cancer. Peace be with you.

Mary Ann and family--we are so sorry to hear of Tom's passing. He fought long and hard for life, and for our community. Rest assured that he and Chief Viel are keeping Heaven safe.
MaryAnn, Jennifer and Matthew-
Please count me among the many who are keeping you close in thought today.
"To live on in the hearts we leave behind, is never to perish".
Along with being a loving husband and devoted father, the Captain will be remembered above all, as a dutiful leader, committed mentor, a fiercely loyal friend and an example of what it means to be a responsible citizen and an honorable man. A greater tribute to him is not grief, but gratitude.
Sincerest Condolences,
Allison Schad
I only worked for Tim for a short time, but I can say he made an imprint on my life. He was an amazing leader who had a wonderful, pleasant presence about him. Blessing to his dedicated wife, MaryAnn, and all of his family.

On this Xmas Eve God has chosen to take another good friend HOME with him. He'll be missed, and it's our loss, but he'll suffer no more, and will truly be HOME for Xmas!
R.I.P. Tom Bottar!

I cried last night for Tom... sad for me, and it really hurts to lose a good friend on Xmas Eve - or anytime for that matter, but it hits harder on this day for me.
Losing a friend this time of the year really puts things back into focus as to what's important in life - family and friends. You can't buy them, return them, or re-gift them. One size fits all, any color is fine with me, they usually expand instead of shrinking (I did!), and you get to keep them for life. You'll miss 'em when they're gone, so tell them TODAY how you feel about them - don't miss that opportunity.
I used to give Tom Man-Hugs - I know it's maybe not generally accepted, especially amongst us manly-men, but I wanted Tom to know I cared for him when he was hurting and needing support and I always told his wife Mary Anne to give him a Man-Hug for me while he was undergoing treatments. Sadly for all of us, Tom can't physically be with us today. We'll keep him here with us though... today, on Christmas.
