Vera E. Grillo's Obituary
Vera E. Grillo, 90, of Syracuse, passed away at home on Tuesday, March 5, 2013. She was born in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (DeYulio) Grillo. Vera was employed with Syracuse City Hall for many years, retiring in 1987. She also volunteered at Our Lady of Pompei Food Pantry for many years. Vera was an avid bingo player and enjoyed puzzles.
She was predeceased by her brother, Rocco Grillo in 1986. Vera is survived by her niece, Mary Jo (Francis) Dzikowski of Woodstock, GA; her great-nephew, Francis (Claudia) Dzikowski of Brooklyn, NY; great-niece, Dionne (Robert) Tedd of Syracuse and many great-great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and Noon in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.
