Vincent J. “Jimmy” Leo, 79, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Friday surrounded by his loving family. Vincent was born in Syracuse, the son of the late Dominick and Maria (Barbuto) Leo. He worked for several years at Gaylord Read Obituary
Jimmy always loved my music when I came to play at the nursing home. He will be missed.

My deepest sympathy to Jimmy's family. My late husband and I knew Jimmy for over 30 years. He was our neighbor. Our house is right next door. My fondest memory of him is how he could be seen shoveling snow from his steps past the lot to the end of my driveway. Sometimes he would shovel part of my driveway. He didn't say much but he always had a smile and when my husband passed he was one of the first neighbors to stop by and extend his condolences. We used to always see him at the Boxing Hall of Fames award ceremonies no matter how hot it was. Jimmy, you will be missed.

To all the Leo Family and Friends of Jimmy, This was so sad to read of Jimmy's passing, I have been friends with him ever since I met him at Billy Harris's West Side Gym in 1974. Through the years we kept in touch and it was always great to visit him when I came to Syracuse for a visit. He was a loyal friend to so many and always treated others with respect.
Over the past few years it was the highlight for us whenever Jimmy sent us a letter - my Wife would often ask me 'How's Jimmy Leo doing?',, she was very sad to hear this. I know many others are too, he was such a good friend to my dear friend Hal Carroll over the years but I am sure so many others are feeling sad too. This was a great man, God blessed us to have known him. He will be missed so much.

My most deepest condolence's to YOU Maryann,
I'll miss Jim with some of his quirks he had.
Especially when Tony's brother passed on Joe Caruso, at his funeral mass last April Jim came up to me in mid communion and said "I'M NOT BUYING ANYMORE 50/50 RAFFEL TICKETS FROM YOU (ME) ANYMORE"
I go to St. Vincent's and what he meant was when I would sell the 50/50 at our events like our spaghetti supper, HE NEVER WON!
I had in the past.
So people are still sore at me for that time which was like 4 years ago.
That's the last time he spoke to me, and the last words I'll HEAR.
May he rest in peace and his journey into HEAVEN BE A SMOOTH ONE, AND JIM YOU HAVE WON THE 50/50 you will be our Lord Jesus and that's GREAT ENOUGH.
