Vincent J. Palerino's Obituary
Vincent J. “Vince” Palerino, 72, of Syracuse, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Thursday, August 14, 2014. He was born in Syracuse and was a graduate of Solvay High School and Indiana University. Vince retired from the Village of Manlius as Administrator/Village Clerk with Arkie Albanese, after 25 years of service. He was the Town of Manlius Parks and Recreation Director, and successfully ran and was elected as Geddes Town Supervisor for two terms, and was also a Town of Geddes Board Member. Vince enjoyed politics and served as Chairman for the Town of Geddes Democratic Committee. He also helped many politicians with their campaigns. Vince played high school football and baseball and continued to play recreational softball and was an avid Yankee fan. He loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Vince was a people person, helping many throughout his life and will be dearly missed.
He was predeceased by his parents, Vincent J. and Mary (Natale) Palerino.
Vince is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Merilee (Cellana) Palerino; his daughter, Jill (David) Richmond of Westvale; two grandchildren, Kaley Richmond and Olivia Richmond, along with many cousins and extended family.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, 11:00 am at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a funeral Mass in celebration of Vincent’s life at 12:00 pm (Noon) at Holy Family Church. Private entombment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery, Warners, NY. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, on Monday from 9:00 to 11:00 am.
