I am so sorry and sad to hear this news. Bill was my mentor and above all a dear friend! We talked almost every week. He taught me everything I know about the business of broadcasting! Bill was always there for me.He had a love of radio and an encyclopedic knowledge of music second to none. Mr. Quinn had a powerful golden voice unlike any other. A very genuine one of a kind and generous man!

I am so sorry to hear of Bill"s passing. We went to school together at Webster and Grant Junior High. Also as teenagers we used to hang out with Jim Miller and some other guys. My name is Jack Giebler. Bill was the best man at my wedding,63 years ago. When he worked at WNDR he gave me a demo 45 record of Bill Haley and the Comets, Rock Around the Clock . I still have it.He was a great friend and will be missed. Jack and Carole Giebler.
One of the best voices in radio has been stilled and I will miss our long-time friendship of over fifty years. "BQ" was the instrument of bringing me into Central NY radio so many years ago and we shared so many memories in our phone calls until recently.

I am so sorry to learn of Bill's passing. We had so much fun as teenagers calling him on the phone with all of our dedications. He never got upset with us because we were Patty's friends. I'll bet he played all of the Johnny Mathis songs for me all weekend. He was a really nice guy. My prayers are with his family. So very sad.
I am greatly sadden to hear of Bill's passing. He was my mentor and was always there to guide me with his incredible knowledge of the business. My success in broadcasting is because of him. Bill will be deeply missed.

Let me add my name to the roster of those radio folk who got their first job in radio courtesy of the amazing Bill Quinn. He was a fantastic teacher, programmer, and on-air talent, always willing to impart his knowledge and insight of the entertainment business, with a flair for humor and get-it-done positive attitude. When I submitted my audition tape, he tracked me down (at church, believe it or not), and started the conversation with, "When do you want to start?" Thank you Bill, for all those years of friendship, learning, and, to steal a Bill phrase, "run of the mill greatness". To the family, deepest sympathies and sincere condolences. We have lost a friend, and a unique presence in the broadcast industry... RIP

Bill Quinn was a terrific friend and early mentor, giving me my first job in radio at WNDR (Syracuse) in 1957. He was an absolute professional, a brilliant programmer, and was highly regarded in the broadcast industry throughput the years. I was fortunate having him successfully consult WCWA-AM in Toledo for Reams Broadcasting in the mid-'80s. In fact, Bill happened to be in town when the Challenger Space Shuttle exploded on January 28, 1986. He personally directed local coverage of the tragedy for several days. I was hoping to see Bill again when we plan to visit Syracuse next summer. God Bless Bill Quinn and his loving family.
