Yolanda (Matrone) Skinner's Obituary
Yolanda (Matrone) Skinner, 82, of East Syracuse, passed away January 1, 2024 at Loretto Nursing Home. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Antonio and Francis (Nastri) Matrone. Yolanda graduated from North High School and received her associate degree from CCBI. She retired from JC Penney in 2006 and was a member of Christian Apostolic Church. She enjoyed playing cards, writing poetry and volunteering. Yolanda loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and will be truly missed.
She is predeceased by her husband, Robert Skinner in 1983, and siblings, Mary, Johnny, Sam, Anna, Al, Frank, Gilda and Nancy.
Yolanda is survived by two sons, Robert (Kathie) Skinner and Gary (Kathy) Skinner; her daughter, Karen Skinner (Paul Matys); seven grandchildren, Emily, Corey, Michael, Hollie, Samantha, Kiara, and Kailee; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. A Funeral Service in celebration of Yolanda’s life will take place at 9:30 am on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Christian Apostolic Church, 7300 Woodchuck Hill Road, Fayetteville, NY, followed by burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Yolanda's name may be made to Christian Apostolic Church.
